Who Are All Clear Travel?

All Clear Travel Insurance is the trading name of All Clear Insurance Services who are based in Essex. They are a popular company and to date have helped over two and a half million people with their travel insurance needs.

The company started in 2000 and have gone from strength to strength winning the Marketing and Customer engagement Broker Award in 2017.

In 2010 All Clear relaunched its website to offer cover for over 1300 different medical conditions and is one of the top Travel Insurers for this sector.

What Travel Insurance do All Clear Offer?

You can choose a single trip (up to 12 months) or if you plan more than one holiday a year the annual multi trip policy (which allows unlimited trips with each trip lasting from 31 to 45 days depending on the level of cover)

What makes All Clear different, is that as well as their own three policies Traveller, Gold and Gold Plus, you have the option of choosing from nine additional travel insurance providers, in a sort of mini comparison site. This is great if you have medical conditions, that you would like covered. If All Clears offerings are too expensive, you haven’t wasted time because there are nine others to choose from.

Whilst all three of All Clear’s policies are aimed at the middle range market, the traveller has the lowest levels of cover.  Gold and Gold Plus offer cancellation cover of between £2,000 and £5,000  and financial failure as standard (which the traveller policy doesn’t)

Another positive is the fact there is no age limit on any of the Gold and Gold Plus Policies (single or annual trip) A big difference between the two policies is the excess £250 on the gold policy and £75 on the gold plus. Of course this has the effect of reducing the Gold Premium, so if you like to take a risk and can afford to hand over £250 in the event of a claim, maybe the Gold policy is the one to go for.

The All Clear Website

The website does provide a lot of information and is fairly easy to navigate around. The quotation system, does ask for more information than some and so slows the process down a little. You are expected to include full name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address, none of which is essential to get a quote (apart from your age) and is all to do with data capture.

The quotes are presented in order of cost with only three features available for comparison Medical Expenses, Cancellation and Baggage cover, all showing the amount of excess. This does make a true comparison difficult. For example if you wanted to know which automatically offered end supplier failure or missed departure cover, you would need to examine the policy booklet of each company first, which would dramatically slow the whole process down.

Customer Reviews

According to their website, they manage to place 99% of inquiries. They have a DEFAQTO five star rating for their policies. We don’t recommend relying on this rating to make your choice as DEFAQTO give high ratings to hundreds of policies, many of which in our opinion don’t deserve them.

They do have over 19,000 reviews on trust pilot and have an average 9.4 score. This tells us that their overall customer service is excellent, should you encounter any problems.
